1. You can set the watch up so it starts capturing heart rate from the chest strap even if you are not recording an activity on the watch. 2. You can update the heart rate graph in connect with the data from the ride so that the daily/weekly training on resting/high heart rate takes into account these externally recorded activities.
Wipe clean bottom of watch (no solvents). For activities I wear the watch a tad higher on wrist and pretty tight. I’m a hairy guy so I’ve also slightly trimmed the wrist area where HRM touches arm/wrist. I was doing a brisk walk and my heart rate was dropping down to 60's. Resting heart rate is usually around 55.
